Join us on ourLamas day trip to discover the contrasts of this town, known for its Indigenous culture and folklore alongside a medieval fortress, located a few miles fromTarapoto.

Lamas Day Trip

We will pick you up from your hotel in Tarapoto at the scheduled time and set off toLamas in our minibus, with the journey taking approximately 30 minutes.

Upon arrival in Lamas, we will visit thePlaza de Armas to admire thegolden sculptures and discuss the town's history, including its conquests and the first settlers fleeing from the Incas. A visit to theChanka Museum will provide insight into the history of the area's Indigenous communities and their festivals, which will last about 30 minutes.

Next, we will exploreLamas Castle, a key tourist attraction, where its halls and towers offer panoramic views of the mountains. Despite its medieval-style architecture, we will discuss the relatively recent construction of this fortress.

We will also visit theWayku community of Lamas to observe their unique windowless houses and discuss their significance.

The day trip will conclude as we return to Tarapoto, completing the tour approximately three hours after departure.
