On this 6-day tour through the Tariquía National Reserve, we'll explore nature and legends in Bolivia, hiking across the reserve and learning about its history.
6-day Bolivia Hiking Tour
Day 1
Pickup will be at your hotel in Tarija at 6 am, followed by a drive to the Tariquía National Reserve. After two hours, we'll arrive at Abra de la Hondura and begin our first hike, crossing rivers and canyons to reach the Cerro de la Escalera viewpoint and then proceed to the community of San José for camping.
Day 2
After breakfast, we resume hiking towards the viewpoint of Abra Potrerillo for lunch. The rest of the day is free for optional activities, including horseback riding.
Day 3
We will hike to the town of Motoví, known for the Piedra Ombliguda. The day will involve touring Motoví and learning about its myths and legends.
Day 4
After breakfast, we'll travel to the community of La Cueva, once inhabited by the Guarani people. We will tour the area before setting up camp for the night.
Day 5
We'll have breakfast and head towards Cambarí, a natural area to observe local wildlife such as the taruca, jukumari bear, and military parrot, all part of the Tariquía National Reserve.
Day 6
On the final day, after breakfast, we'll leave the reserve for Tarija, stopping in the town of Sidras for lunch, and arriving at your hotel in the mid-afternoon.
Accommodation
The tour includes four nights of lodging in tents and one night in the Valle del Medio ecotourism center.
