Tour to Sama Reserve & Laguna Grande of Tajzara

At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Tarija and head to the Cordillera de Sama Biological Reserve, commonly known as Sama Reserve.

The tour begins by traveling west towards the eastern mountain range of Sama, noted for its rugged topography of slopes, plateaus, and lagoons. Along the route, you can view Tarija's central valley and its rocky landscapes.

Our first stop will be in the village of San Lorenzito to stretch our legs before proceeding to the nature reserve. We will visit key points in this mountain range, including the La Falda Tunnel for views of the Bolivian altiplano and Iscayachi, where we will see a charming adobe church.

At noon, we will pause for a picnic lunch consisting of a sandwich, water, and fruit.

Following a panoramic walk through the Sama Reserve, we will head to the Laguna Grande of Tajzara, surrounded by golden sand dunes. Here, you'll have time to appreciate the scenery and observe the flamingos along the lake's shores.

Finally, we will visit an artisan weaving workshop in the town of Copacabana before returning to Tarija, dropping you off between 4 and 5 pm.

The tour includes pickup from hotels in the center of Tarija. If your accommodation is outside this area, please proceed to the meeting point located on Bolivar street.
