Tour to Sama Reserve & Laguna Grande of Tajzara

At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Tarija and head to the Cordillera de Sama Biological Reserve, also known as Sama Reserve.

The tour starts by heading west towards the eastern mountain range of Sama, which features rugged topography of slopes, plateaus, and lagoons. You will see the views of Tarija's central valley and rocky landscapes.

Our first stop will be in the village of San Lorenzito to stretch our legs. We will then continue to the nature reserve, visiting key points like the La Falda Tunnel, where you can admire the Bolivian altiplano, and Iscayachi, a village with a charming adobe church.

At noon, there will be a picnic lunch with a sandwich, water, and fruit.

After a panoramic walk in the Sama Reserve, we will proceed to Laguna Grande of Tajzara, surrounded by golden sand dunes. Here, you'll have time to enjoy the scenery, observe the flamingos, and connect with nature.

We will then visit the town of Copacabana for an artisan weaving workshop before returning to Tarija, arriving between 4 and 5 pm.

The tour includes pickup from hotels in the center of Tarija. If your accommodation is outside this area, please go to the meeting point on Bolivar street.
