Chacamarca Sanctuary, Lake Junin & Ondores Tour

On this tour to Chacamarca Historic Sanctuary, Lake Junín and Ondores, we will explore the attractions in Junín and visit San Pedro de Pari.

Description

We will meet at the scheduled time in Plaza de Armas in Tarma and start our tour around the main sights in the Junín province.

First, we will travel north to Chacamarca Historic Sanctuary, making a stop at the Camino Inca viewpoint to admire the fields of flowers. After approximately one hour, we will arrive and learn about the Battle of Junín and its significance in Peru's independence. We will explore the origin of the monument honoring the fallen heroes and visit the Chacamarca Historic Sanctuary museum.

Next, we will visit the small town of Junín, including Plaza de Armas and the monument of General Simón Bolívar. We will then proceed to the town of Ondores for a guided tour, featuring the colonial Church known for its altarpieces, stone tower, and bell tower.

Afterwards, we will visit San Pedro de Pari, where we will discover the colonial Church on the lakeshore, with its views and architectural details. We will also explore other attractions in San Pedro de Pari, including la Cabeza del Inca, La Momia, San Jerónimo, and the Tres Reyes Magos.

Finally, we will return to Tarma, concluding our tour after seven hours.
