On this day trip to Oxapampa, we'll learn about the fusion of Andean and European cultures while visiting the city and the Chanchamayo Valley.
Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Plaza de Armas de Tarma and head to Oxapampa, enjoying the landscapes of the Chanchamayo Valley along the way.
We will stop in La Merced, in the province of Chanchamayo, to learn about the lives and history of indigenous peoples in the central Peruvian jungle. We'll cross the Kimiri suspension bridge and travel to the village of San Luis de Shuaro.
After a short break, we'll visit several viewpoints for photos before heading to Oxapampa, established by Austrian and German immigrants in the 19th century.
We'll take a guided tour of this town, focusing on the blend of European and Andean cultures. Stops include the Parish of Santa Rosa and the Miraflores and Llamaquizu neighborhoods, where typical houses of the Colonist's Walk are found.
Following the tour, we'll visit the Huarapo dairy cooperative to learn about cattle farming. The trip ends with a meal at a nearby restaurant before returning to Tarma's Plaza de Armas, concluding our 8-hour adventure.
