On this excursion to Oxapampa, the rich amalgamation of Andean and European traditions will unfold before us. Our journey will take us through this intriguing city and into the beautiful Chanchamayo Valley.
Description
We will gather at the appointed hour in the Plaza de Armas de Tarma and set off towards Oxapampa, travelling northward. During our journey, the stunning vistas of Chanchamayo Valley will accompany us.
Along the route, a stop will be made in La Merced, located in the Chanchamayo province. Here, we will delve into the stories and traditions of the indigenous communities that inhabit the central Peruvian jungle. Continuing on, we will cross the Kimiri suspension bridge and proceed to the village of San Luis de Shuaro.
After a brief pause, the exploration will continue as we visit various viewpoints offering breathtaking scenery, perfect for memorable photographs. Our adventure leads us next to Oxapampa, a town founded in the 19th century by Austrian and German settlers.
Here, a guided tour will reveal the captivating fusion of European and Andean influences. We will take a moment at the Parish of Santa Rosa and stroll through the charming Miraflores and Llamaquizu neighborhoods, where the iconic residences of the Colonist's Walk can be observed.
Following our tour, we will visit the Huarapo dairy cooperative, providing us with insightful knowledge about cattle farming in this region. A delightful meal awaits you at a nearby restaurant, allowing for some relaxation and culinary enjoyment.
As this 8-hour expedition comes to a close, we will return to the Plaza de Armas in Tarma, leaving you with cherished memories of this unique experience.
