On this day trip to Oxapampa, we'll learn about the fusion of Andean and European cultures. We'll visit this curious city and travel to the Chanchamayo Valley.
Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Plaza de Armas de Tarma and head north to Oxapampa. Along the way, we'll enjoy the landscapes of the Chanchamayo Valley.
We will stop in La Merced, in the province of Chanchamayo, to learn about the lives and history of indigenous peoples in the central Peruvian jungle. Our tour continues with a crossing of the Kimiri suspension bridge and a visit to the village of San Luis de Shuaro.
After a break, we'll visit several viewpoints to capture landscapes and then proceed to Oxapampa, established by Austrian and German immigrants in the 19th century.
A guided tour of the town will showcase the blend of European and Andean cultures. We will stop at the Parish of Santa Rosa and explore the Miraflores and Llamaquizu neighborhoods, known for their typical houses on the Colonist's Walk.
Following the tour, we will visit the Huarapo dairy cooperative to learn about cattle farming. This will be followed by a meal at a nearby restaurant.
To conclude this 8-hour adventure, we'll return to the Plaza de Armas in Tarma, leaving you with lasting memories of the trip.
