On this tour of Perené Valley and Chanchamayo waterfalls, we'll discover the exuberant landscapes of the interior of Peru.
Description
At the indicated time we'll meet at the Plaza de Armas de Tarma and head for the Perené Valley, known as the "City of the Three Plateaus." We will visit the Carpapata viewpoint for views of Chanchamayo's nature and a coffee processing plant to taste this product.
After coffee, we will cross the Kimiri suspension bridge for a view of Nativo Dormido and then visit a native Ashaninka community for a display of dance and handicrafts. The tour continues through Santa Ana to see the Boca del Tigre Canyon for photo opportunities.
Next, we will visit the Bayoz waterfall and the Velo de la Novia waterfall, which is 65 meters (213 feet) tall. You may take a dip in the waters and enjoy a picnic lunch near the waterfall. Following lunch, we will take a traditional boat ride along the Perené River.
Finally, we will return to the minibus for the ride back to Tarma, concluding the tour after 12 hours.
