Modernist Tarragona Guided Tour

We will meet at the Balcony of the Mediterranean to begin our tour of the essential modernist buildings.

Accompanied by a guide, we will explore the most emblematic buildings of Modernism, an artistic movement from the late 19th century that influenced Tarragona's center.

The route includes visits to the Metropol Theatre, Casa Ximenis, and the Convent of the Teresian Order. Notably, the architect with the most modernist contributions in the city is Josep Maria Pujol de Barberà. Many of his works will be seen along Rambla Nova, including the Rectorate of Rovira i Virgili University and the Ripoll House.

Additionally, we will observe the municipal market of Pujol de Barberà. After two hours of walking, the tour will conclude with a visit to the Mausoleum of King Jaume I, designed by architect Lluis Domenech i Montaner.
