Tour Details
On this private day trip to Samarkand from Tashkent, you'll explore the history and monuments of this legendary city. You'll be picked up from your hotel in Tashkent at the specified time and taken to the train station, where you'll take a train to Samarkand independently.
Upon arrival in Samarkand, you'll meet your guide at the station for a guided tour of the city. The first stop will be at the mausoleum of Gur Emir, where the remains of Tamerlane are located. After this, you'll proceed to Registan Square, notable from the Timurid dynasty period.
In Registan Square, visits include the Sher-Dor Madrasa and the Ulugbek Madrasa, as well as the Tillya Kori Madrasa. Next, you'll see the Bibi Khanym Mosque, once among the largest mosques in the Islamic world during the 15th century. The tour continues at the Shah-i-Zinda necropolis, a complex of mausoleums from the 14th and 15th centuries.
After visiting, you'll have lunch at a local restaurant at your own pace before heading to Siyob Bazaar, the largest bazaar in Samarkand, where you'll have about an hour for shopping. Finally, you'll make your way to Samarkand railway station to take the train back to Tashkent. Upon arrival in Tashkent, transportation will be provided back to your hotel, with a total duration of 12 to 14 hours from pickup.
