On this tour of the churches of Taxco, we will enter the important religious temples of this Mexican city and discover the history and symbolism within their walls.
Taxco Churches Tour
We will meet at the indicated time on Calle Benito Juarez to begin a tour of the main temples of Taxco. The first stop will be at the Templo de Veracruz, a 19th-century temple built in honor of Santo Cristo de la Veracruz, known as "El General".
The tour continues to the Parish Church of San Miguel Arcángel, one of the oldest churches dating back to the 16th century, originally dedicated to San Sebastián. We will also visit the Chapel of San Nicolás, the patron saint of Taxco, known for the tradition of giving out bread rolls on his feast day.
The next stops are the Temple of the Holy Trinity and the Temple of Chavarrieta, regarded as one of the most beautiful sacred buildings in the region. Before concluding, we will visit the former Convent of San Bernardino de Siena, notable for its images of important saints.
We will finish the tour by entering the Church of Santa Prisca, a colonial monument and symbol of Taxco. After 3 hours, we will conclude the tour in front of this iconic temple.
