Taxco Tour
We will meet at the designated time at Benito Juarez street in Taxco to commence this guided tour of the historic center. Our first stop will be at the ex-convent of San Bernardino de Siena, originally built in the 16th century and renovated in 1804 in the neoclassical style after a fire.
After visiting the ex-convent, we'll proceed to the back of the building to observe the statues of penitents commemorating Taxco's Holy Week.
Next, we will walk to Plaza Borda (Zócalo), meaning "place where they play ball," and stop in front of Casa Borda, a cultural center established by José de la Borda in 1759.
We'll also view the Casa Humboldt, the Viceroyalty Art Museum, and the Casa Figueroa (or Casa de las Lágrimas), highlighting its tragic history.
Before concluding our tour, we'll arrive at the Church of Santa Prisca and San Sebastian, recognized as a significant baroque church in Mexico.
We will conclude our guided tour of Taxco 2 hours later in front of the silver tianguis, an open-air market with various silver jewelry offerings.
