Fiordland: Helicopter Ride, Hike & Boat Trip

Imagine experiencing Fiordland from the air, land, and water – an adventure that awaits you in the heart of the New Zealand Alps. This unique excursion allows you to fly in a helicopter, hike through Luxmore Hut, and sail across Lake Te Anau.

Description

We'll meet at the helicopter base on Lakefront Drive in Te Anau, ready to embark on a journey through Fiordland National Park by air, land, and water. Our adventure begins as we board a helicopter and ascend to the highest regions of the Fiordland Mountains. For 25 minutes, you’ll see Lake Te Anau, the Hidden Lakes of New Zealand, and the peaks of the Main Divide, including the Kepler Mountains.

Upon landing at Luxmore Hut, you can choose from two hiking routes:

Luxmore Hut Trek (2.5 to 3 hours): This hike descends through a beech forest along a trail that concludes at Brod Bay, located on the shores of Lake Te Anau.

Luxmore Hut and Luxmore Summit Trek (5 to 6 hours): This extended hike passes through the beech forest and approaches the Luxmore Summit viewpoint, offering views of New Zealand's South Island.

Boat Return: After completing either hiking route, a 10-minute boat ride will transport us back to our starting point.
