Itinerary
Day 1: Tel Aviv - Aqaba - Wadi Rum
Depart from Ben Gurion Airport to reach Aqaba in approximately 1 hour by plane, compared to 6 hours by road. Land at Ramon International Airport and travel by bus to Aqaba, where you will explore narrow streets and visit an Ottoman fortress with views of Israel, Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia.
After free time for lunch, embark on a 4x4 journey to explore the Wadi Rum desert, a UNESCO World Heritage site known as the Valley of the Moon, seeing formations like the Seven Pillars of Wisdom and the Arch of Um Furth. Overnight will be spent at a camp, with dinner and a sunset view in the desert.
Day 2: Wadi Rum - Petra - Tel Aviv
After breakfast, travel by bus to Petra, Jordan's archaeological highlight. A picnic breakfast can be purchased for the journey. Explore the Siq Gorge and take a guided tour of Petra, considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World, learning about the Nabataeans and their history dating back 2300 years. Enjoy 2 hours of free time in Petra before having lunch and returning to Eilat for the flight back to Tel Aviv, arriving at Ben Gurion Airport around 10 pm.
Accommodation
This tour includes 1 night’s accommodation with half-board at Magic Rum Camp, offering a choice of standard double rooms or superior options resembling space tents. All rooms feature en-suite bathrooms and wifi. If unavailable, a similar camp will be provided.
