Sete Cidades National Park
Sete Cidades National Park is a conservation reserve established in 1961, protecting the endemic nature of northern Piauí. It includes various ecosystems, such as arid savannas and seasonal forests, and features geological formations and archaeological remains evidencing human presence in the region for thousands of years.
Itinerary
We will pick you up early in the morning from your accommodation in Teresina and travel to Sete Cidades National Park, located approximately 190 km (118 miles) away.
Upon arrival, we'll undertake a 5 km (3 miles) hike to explore the fauna, flora, and natural habitats. The hike lasts around 3 hours and includes visits to viewpoints and observations of ancient rocky formations. A break will be provided at a water well, and you may stop for lunch at your own expense.
Following the hike, we will visit the park's archaeological sites, including cave inscriptions and the ruins of a stone city. This experience will provide insights into the prehistoric inhabitants of the area.
After a total of 10 hours of exploration, we will return you to your accommodation in Teresina.
