Sete Cidades National Park
Sete Cidades National Park is a conservation reserve that protects the endemic nature of the northern region of Piauí. Created in 1961, this area homes various types of ecosystems, such as arid savannas and seasonal forests.
This place also features geological formations and archaeological remains, showcasing the presence of humans in this area in Brazil for thousands of years.
Itinerary
We'll pick you up early in the morning from your accommodation in Teresina and head to Sete Cidades National Park, about 190 km (118 miles) away.
Upon arrival, we'll embark on a 5 km (3 miles) hike to observe fauna, flora and natural habitats in the area. We'll visit viewpoints and admire rocky formations that are thousands of years old.
This hike lasts about 3 hours, after which we'll stop for a refreshing break at a water well and pause to eat at your own expense.
Next, we'll visit the park's archaeological sites, where we will find cave inscriptions and the ruins of a stone city. This provides insight into the people who lived here in prehistoric times.
After a total of 10 hours of adventure and culture, we'll drop you back at your accommodation in Teresina.
