Are you ready to explore Trás-os-Montes? This northeastern region of Portugal promises to astonish you at every turn. By selecting this option, our journey will begin in Montalegre, renowned for its striking 12th-century castle perched atop a hill. Following this, a visit to the Ecomuseum of Montalegre will offer insights into the rich history and cultural heritage of this beautiful municipality.

Next, we'll proceed to Boticas, a delightful village adorned with charming stone houses and home to a Rural Museum, showcasing various historical agricultural tools. You will have an hour of free time to savor lunch at one of the local eateries (meal cost not included).

Our final stop will take us to Chaves, where we'll take in the impressive medieval fortress, recognized as a National Monument. As we explore, we'll also glimpse the Roman bridge of Trajano and the renowned Chaves hot springs before heading back to Montalegre.

Tour of Chaves, Valpaços, & Vila Pouca de Aguiar

This alternative option allows for a deeper exploration of Chaves, much like the first tour, while also including additional key sites in Trás-os-Montes.

We will uncover the highlights of Vila Pouca de Aguiar and visit the remarkable Parque de Pedras Salgadas, a picturesque wooded area adorned with uniquely shaped stones.
