Description
At the indicated time we'll meet next to the sculpture of Eleftherios Venizelos, located in Egnatia Street. We will board a minibus and leave Thessaloniki to start this excursion to Pella and Vergina.
After a 45-minute drive, we'll reach Pella, the hometown of Alexander the Great, which was the capital of Macedonia between the 5th and 4th centuries BC. The site features an archaeological site that we will explore, learning about figures such as Aristotle, Euripides, Philip II, and Alexander the Great.
We will enter the site's museum to discover many finds, including everyday objects and exquisite mosaic floors of the "house of Dionysus" and the "house of Helena."
Next, we will proceed to Vergina and stop in front of the Museum of the Royal Tombs of Aigai, which includes the tomb of King Philip II of Macedon.
After exploring this World Heritage Site, we will have a break at a local restaurant to enjoy a Greek lunch at your own expense. Finally, we'll return to Salonica.
After 13 hours of excursion, we'll end the activity back at the starting point.
