See two of Georgia's most beautiful and symbolic monuments with this day trip. We'll visit the Vardzia monastery caves and wander through the charming town of Borjomi.

Day Trip Details

We'll meet on Kote Abkhazi Street in Tbilisi at the designated time and board the bus to head west to the Vardzia Monastery. The journey will take approximately 3 hours.

Located in the town of Ajaltsije, this building features a church, a mosque, and a synagogue within its seven hectares.

After an hour's visit, we'll return to the bus and go to Vardzia. Upon arrival, you'll see the numerous caves that comprise this monastery, built with a defensive nature due to its proximity to Turkey. We'll tour the complex for an hour and a half, discovering its secrets and admiring the frescoes in its church.

During the tour, we'll stop for lunch in a small village.

Next, we'll explore the mountains and green slopes of the Borjomi Nature Reserve, where you can taste the precious spring waters. We'll also walk through the town and view the Romanovs summer palace.

The tour will conclude with our return to Tbilisi at approximately 10 pm.

Additional Info

To visit places of worship, women must cover their hair, so we recommend bringing a scarf or shawl.

Additionally, visiting Vardzia requires an average level of physical fitness, as the route is challenging.
