  • Geöffnet am Mo, Do

See two of Georgia's most beautiful and symbolic monuments with this Borjomi, Vardzia & Rabati Castle Day Trip. You'll visit the monastery caves and wander through the charming town.

Day Trip Details

Meet on Kote Abkhazi Street in Tbilisi at the designated time and board the bus to head west to the Vardzia Monastery, approximately a 3-hour journey.

Located in the town of Ajaltsije, this site features a mix of cultural religious buildings, including a church, mosque, and synagogue, covering seven hectares.

After an hour's visit, we'll proceed to Vardzia. Upon arrival, you'll explore the many caves that compose this monastery with a significant defensive history due to its proximity to Turkey. We will tour the complex for an hour and a half, observing its frescoes.

We will pause for lunch in a small village along the way.

Next, we'll head to the Borjomi Nature Reserve, where you will learn about the valuable spring waters and have the opportunity to taste them. A walk through the town will also include a visit to the Romanovs summer palace.

The tour concludes with our return to Tbilisi at approximately 10 pm.

Itinerary Adjustments

Until March 2025, Rabati Castle cannot be visited due to a lighting issue. During this time, additional exploration of Borjomi and Vardzia will occur.
