At the selected time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Tbilisi and take you through the Caucasian valleys in a jeep. We'll head 100 kilometers (62 miles) southeast of Tbilisi to the Kakheti region to visit the monastery of David Gareja.

This monastery complex carved into rock was founded by St. David Gareja, one of the 13 Assyrian monks who arrived in Georgia during the 6th century and established multiple convents.

The monastery is situated next to the Mount Gareja desert, providing views of the arid landscapes. We'll explore the complex, examining its defensive walls, towers, and ancient frescoes.

The tour includes insights into the history of the monastery, such as the confinement of Georgian king Demetrius I here after his abdication in 1154.

Following the visit, we'll embark on an 8-kilometer (5 miles) hike through the Rainbow Mountains, appreciating its unique landscapes.

On our return, we'll stop at a traditional village for lunch and you can sample Georgian mulled wine. After ten hours of sightseeing, we'll return to Tbilisi and drop you off at your hotel.
