At the selected time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Tbilisi and take you through the Caucasian valleys in a jeep. We'll head 100 kilometers (62 miles) southeast of Tbilisi to the Kakheti region to visit the monastery of David Gareja.

This monastery complex, carved into rock, was founded by St. David Gareja, one of the 13 Assyrian monks who came to Georgia in the 6th century. The monastery is located next to the Mount Gareja desert, providing views of the arid landscapes in the area. We'll visit the complex, exploring its defensive walls, towers, and ancient frescoes.

During the visit, we'll learn the history of the monastery, including the fact that Georgian king Demetrius I was confined here after his abdication in 1154.

Afterward, we'll take an 8-kilometer (5 miles) hike through the Rainbow Mountains, featuring landscapes that appear otherworldly.

On the return trip, we'll stop at a traditional village for lunch and to sample the famous Georgian mulled wine. After ten hours of sightseeing, we'll return to Tbilisi and drop you off at your hotel.
