Kakheti Guided Tour & Wine Tasting
On the morning of the tour, we will meet in Tbilisi and head east to Kakheti, known for its extensive vineyards. After an hour's drive, our first stop will be a picturesque town for a baking masterclass to learn to make Georgian bread, which will include tasting.
Next, we will visit the Monastery of St Nino at Bodbe, built in the 9th century and an important pilgrimage site housing the tomb of St Nino, who converted the Georgian people to Christianity. The monastery provides views over the Alazani Valley and the snow-capped Caucasus Mountains.
We will then stop in the charming town of Signagi, where you will have free time to explore its cobbled streets and enjoy views of the Alazani Valley and Caucasus peaks, or visit the Pirosmanishvili Museum dedicated to artist Nico Pirosmanishvili.
Following Signagi, we will visit a local wine cellar to taste seven different Georgian wines and learn about their production process in Kakheti, along with tasting chacha, a local vodka. You will then have around half an hour for lunch.
At the end of the trip, we will return to Tbilisi, arriving around 6:30 pm.
