Kazbegi & Ananuri Castle Day Trip

This tour will take you along the Georgian Military Road to Ananuri Castle, the Jinvali Water Reservoir and Kazbegi, a village in the Caucasus Mountains.

Kazbegi & Ananuri Castle Day Trip

Meet at the Avlabari metro station at the designated time. We will proceed north along the Georgian Military Road, crossing the Caucasus mountain range.

After about an hour and a half, we will reach the Jinvali Water Reservoir, known for its turquoise waters set against the green mountains. We will then continue to the fortress of Ananuri, a Middle Ages defensive structure on the Aragvi River.

At noon, enjoy free time in Pasanauri for lunch to try local dishes, including the recommended khinkali.

Post-lunch, we will visit the Russia - Georgia Friendship Monument, built in 1983 to commemorate the Treaty of Georgievsk.

Next, we will arrive at Kazbegi, set in the Caucasus. You can opt for a 4x4 trip to the Gergeti Trinity Church, located on a hill with views of Mount Kazbeg.

Our final stop is the Rooms Hotel Kazbegi, providing views of Stepantsminda. We will conclude the tour after 12 hours back at the meeting point.

Itinerary Changes

From December to March, the Russia-Georgia Friendship Monument visit will be replaced by the Gudauri ski resort.

If winter weather prevents access to the Gergeti Trinity Church, more time will be spent at Gudauri ski resort.
