This tour will take you along the Georgian Military Road to Ananuri Castle, the Jinvali Water Reservoir and Kazbegi, a village in the Caucasus Mountains.

Kazbegi & Ananuri Castle Day Trip

Meet at the Avlabari metro station at the designated time to head north along the Georgian Military Road, crossing the Caucasus mountain range.

After around an hour and a half's drive, the first stop will be the Jinvali Water Reservoir. Next, the tour proceeds to the fortress of Ananuri, located on the Aragvi River.

At noon, you will have free time in Pasanauri for lunch. Local dishes, such as khinkali, are recommended.

Post-lunch, the excursion includes a visit to the Russia - Georgia Friendship Monument, a structure overlooking Devil's Valley. Then, head to Kazbegi, where you can opt for a 4x4 trip to the Gergeti Trinity Church, located on a hill overlooking Mount Kazbeg.

The final stop will be the Rooms Hotel Kazbegi, offering views of Stepantsminda. The tour lasts a total of 12 hours, concluding back at the initial meeting point.

Itinerary Changes

From December to March, the visit to the Russia-Georgia Friendship Monument will be replaced by the Gudauri ski resort.

If winter weather does not permit access to the Gergeti Trinity Church, extra time will be spent at the Gudauri ski resort.
