Mtskheta, Uplistsikhe & Gori Day Trip

Meet at the Avlabari metro station in Tbilisi at the designated time. The tour departs at 9 am, visiting Uplistsikhe, Gori, and Mtskheta. The first stop is Uplistsikhe, where you'll see approximately 500 caves from the Iron Age to the late Middle Ages. Free time for lunch is scheduled at 1 pm.

In the afternoon, the tour continues to Gori, the birthplace of Stalin. You will have time to explore the historic center and visit the Gori Fortress or the Stalin Museum, showcasing artifacts related to the Soviet leader. The fortress dates back several centuries BC.

Next, the tour visits the Jvari Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with views over Mtskheta, Georgia's former capital. The history of the monastery relates to the introduction of Christianity in the country. The final stop is the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, a major Orthodox church and burial site for Georgian monarchs.

The trip concludes with a return to Tbilisi, lasting a total of 10 hours.
