The Jvari Monastery in Mtskheta, the Uplistsikhe cave town, and the city of Gori are included in this one-day tour from Tbilisi.

Mtskheta, Uplistsikhe & Gori Day Trip

Meeting point is at the Avlabari metro station in Tbilisi at 9 am. The tour starts with a visit to Uplistsikhe, known for its rocky landscapes, featuring nearly 500 caves from the Iron Age to the late Middle Ages. Free time for lunch is provided at 1 pm.

In the afternoon, the tour continues to Gori, the birthplace of Stalin, where guests can explore the historic center and visit either the Gori Fortress or the Stalin Museum. The fortress has archaeological evidence dating back several centuries BC.

Following Gori, the group will visit the Jvari Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with panoramic views over Mtskheta, the former capital of Georgia, and learn about its historical significance. The tour also includes a visit to the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral in Mtskheta, the final resting place of many Georgian monarchs.

The tour concludes with a return to Tbilisi, lasting a total of 10 hours.
