Mtskheta, Uplistsikhe & Gori Day Trip
Meet at the Avlabari metro station in Tbilisi at 9 am to begin the tour of Uplistsikhe, Gori, and Mtskheta.
The first stop is Uplistsikhe, known as "the lord's fortress," where nearly 500 caves from the Iron Age to the late Middle Ages are located. Free time for lunch will be provided at 1 pm.
In the afternoon, visit Gori, the birthplace of Stalin, where you can explore the city's historic center and visit the Gori Fortress or the Stalin Museum.
Afterward, proceed to the Jvari Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for panoramic views of Mtskheta. Learn about its significance in the introduction of Christianity to Georgia, followed by a visit to the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, an important Orthodox church and burial site of Georgian monarchs.
Return to Tbilisi at the end of the 10-hour trip.
