Explore one of the oldest cities in Albania and discover its historical heritage with this day trip to Shkodra from Tirana.

Shkodra Day Trip

At the designated time, we'll meet at the stairs of the Albanian National Theatre of Opera and Ballet in Tirana. We will then travel to Shkodra, the gateway to the Albanian Alps and the cultural capital of Albania.

After a journey of approximately 2 hours, we'll reach Shkodra. The first place to visit will be Rozafa Castle, a historic fortress. We will explore the ruins, which were rebuilt by the Venetians and Ottomans, while enjoying views of the surrounding rivers.

Next, we'll head to the city center and stroll through the main streets for 1 hour of free time to sample Albanian cuisine and grab a bite to eat.

Following lunch, the tour will continue with a visit to the Lead Mosque, an important Ottoman structure, and then to St. Stephen's Cathedral, which has a notable history, including being the site of the Sports Palace and the Albanian Communist Women's Congress.

Before leaving Shkodra, you'll have 1 hour to explore the city at your own pace and buy souvenirs. We recommend visiting the Marubi National Museum of Photography and local artisanal stands.

Finally, we will return to the starting point, concluding the trip 8-9 hours after it begins.
