Day Trip to Shkodra

  • 8 - 9 Stunden

Explore one of the oldest cities in Albania and discover its historical heritage with this day trip to Shkodra from Tirana.

Shkodra Day Trip

At the designated time, we'll meet at the stairs of the Albanian National Theatre of Opera and Ballet in Tirana. From there, we'll travel to Shkodra, the gateway to the Albanian Alps and the cultural capital of Albania.

After a journey of approximately 2 hours, we'll reach our destination. The first place we will see is Rozafa Castle, a fortress steeped in history. We'll explore the ruins, which were rebuilt by the Venetians and the Ottomans, while admiring the beautiful views of the rivers surrounding Shkodra.

Next, we'll reach the city center and stroll through the main streets of Shkodra. Here, you'll have 1 hour of free time to try Albanian cuisine and grab a bite to eat.

After lunch, we'll continue our tour admiring the Lead Mosque, one of the most important Ottoman structures in the region, before proceeding to St. Stephen's Cathedral, which has an interesting history related to the Sports Palace and the Albanian Communist Women's Congress.

Before leaving Shkodra, you'll have another hour of free time to explore the city and purchase souvenirs. We recommend visiting the Marubi National Museum of Photography and local artisanal stands.

Finally, we'll begin our journey back to the starting point, concluding the trip 8-9 hours after it begins.
