On this tour we'll visit two notable locations on the outskirts of Tokyo: Kamakura, known for its Grand Buddha, and Enoshima.
Tour Details
We will pick you up from your hotel in Tokyo and head to the train station to begin our trip to Kamakura. Following a brief 1-hour train ride, we will arrive at Kamakura Station. We will then stroll along Komachi-dori Street, which features local handicrafts and restaurants.
At the end of Komachi-dori Street is the Tsurugaoka Hachimang? Shrine, the most significant Shinto shrine in the city. We will explore its gardens and ascend the staircase for scenic views.
Next, we'll take a 5-minute tram ride to the K?toku-in Temple and the Great Buddha statue. The guide will provide historical context and insights into Buddhism's local significance. Visitors can enter the Buddha statue for an additional fee.
Afterward, you will have 1 hour of free time to enjoy lunch at nearby local restaurants. We will then take a 20-minute tram ride to Enoshima.
In Enoshima, we will explore the Benzaiten Nakamise-dori shopping street, which features souvenir shops and food stalls. Options to try include takoyaki and shirasu.
After a day of exploration, we will return to Tokyo and arrive at Tokyo Station approximately 8 hours later.
