On this tour we'll visit two significant locations on the outskirts of Tokyo: Kamakura, known for its Grand Buddha, and Enoshima.
Tour Details
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Tokyo at the specified time and head to the train station to begin our day trip to Kamakura. After a brief 1-hour train ride, we'll arrive at Kamakura Station. First, we'll explore Komachi-dori Street, known for its local handicrafts and restaurants.
As we reach the end of Komachi-dori Street, we'll arrive at the Tsurugaoka Hachimang? Shrine, the most important Shinto shrine in the city, known for its Feng Shui design from 1063. Visitors can enjoy the gardens and climb the staircase for panoramic views of the town.
Next, we'll take a 5-minute tram ride to K?toku-in Temple to see the Great Buddha statue. Our guide will provide historical insights and fun facts about the region's Buddhism. There is an option to enter the Buddha statue for an additional cost.
You'll have 1 hour of free time for lunch at local restaurants. After lunch, we'll take a 20-minute tram to Enoshima.
In Enoshima, we'll walk down Benzaiten Nakamise-dori shopping street, exploring souvenir shops and food stalls. Consider trying takoyaki or shirasu if you haven't finished your lunch.
After a full day of exploration, we'll return to Tokyo, arriving at Tokyo Station 8 hours later.
