On this tour to Kamakura, we'll explore this city that was the political centre of medieval Japan. We'll tour its temples, take a rickshaw ride, and rent a kimono!
Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet in the Suica Penguin Square and board a train to Kamakura. The first stop will be the Buddhist temple of Hase-Dera, known for its more than 50,000 small sculptures, where you can stroll through its caves, halls, and enjoy a panoramic view of the bay.
Next, we will visit the Great Buddha of Kamakura, the second-largest Buddha sculpture in Japan, measuring over 42 ft (13 meters) and weighing 93 tons.
Afterwards, we will go to the Tsurugaoka Hachiman temple-g?, the most important Shinto sanctuary in Kamakura. You will have 40 minutes to explore the outside of this 11th-century building and its gardens filled with cherry trees.
Finally, after 5 hours of exploring, we will bid you farewell back at the meeting point, and you can either return to Tokyo with your free train ticket or continue to enjoy the town at your leisure.
