On this tour to Kamakura, we'll explore this city that was the political centre of medieval Japan. We'll tour its temples, take a rickshaw ride and even rent a kimono!

Description

At the indicated time, we'll meet in the Suica Penguin Square and board a train to Kamakura. Prepare to discover the charms of this city!

The first stop will be at the Buddhist temple of Hase-Dera, where we will admire the exterior of this shrine, known for its more than 50,000 small sculptures. Experience a calm atmosphere as you stroll through its caves, Buddhist halls, and its panoramic terrace offering a view of the bay.

Next, we'll visit the Great Buddha of Kamakura, the second-largest Buddha sculpture in Japan, measuring over 42 ft (13 metres) and weighing 93 tons.

Afterwards, we'll go to the Tsurugaoka Hachiman temple-g?, the most important Shinto sanctuary in Kamakura. We will leave you 40 minutes to explore the outside of this 11th-century building and stroll through its gardens filled with cherry trees.

Finally, after 5 hours of exploring, we'll bid you farewell back at the meeting point, where you can return to Tokyo with your free train ticket or continue enjoying the town at your leisure.
