On this tour to Kamakura, we'll explore this city that was the political centre of medieval Japan. We'll tour its temples, take a rickshaw ride, and even rent a kimono!
Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet in the Suica Penguin Square and board a train to Kamakura. The first stop will be at the Buddhist temple of Hase-Dera, where we will admire its exterior, known for over 50,000 small sculptures, and stroll through its caves and halls with views of the bay.
Next, we will visit the Great Buddha of Kamakura, the second-largest Buddha sculpture in Japan, measuring over 42 ft (13 meters) and weighing 93 tons. After this, we will go to the Tsurugaoka Hachiman temple-g?, the most significant Shinto sanctuary in Kamakura, where you will have 40 minutes to explore its exterior and gardens with cherry trees.
After 5 hours of exploring, we will return to the meeting point, where you can either take your free train ticket back to Tokyo or enjoy the town at your leisure.
