Want to know the secrets of a quintessential Japanese dish? In this sushi-making workshop in Tokyo, you'll learn to make your very own nigiri and maki.

Workshop Details

At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Izumiya Akasaka building, and we'll prepare to become true itamaes, Japanese chefs. You will put on your chef's hat and apron to kick off the sushi-making workshop.

The class will begin with the preparation of sushi rice, focusing on making a perfect shari, which is essential for sushi. Once this step is complete, you will be closer to achieving the status of an itamaes.

You will then grate freshly made authentic wasabi and experience its unique taste. Attention is needed to avoid excessive tears.

The workshop continues with the preparation of hand-rolled sushi with nori, utilizing fresh ingredients. You will taste various selections including uni, negitoro, hirame, kuruma-ebi, chutoro and akami sushi. Additionally, there will be professional demonstrations of fish preparation and various sushi techniques by a professional chef with an interpreter.

To complete this culinary experience, you will enjoy a special wakame udon and a complimentary drink, available options being beer, sake, cola, or green tea.

The workshop will last approximately 2 hours, and you will have the opportunity to take photos at the counter to commemorate your experience.
