Tokyo Tower: the Best Views of the Japanese Capital
The Tokyo Tower, standing at 333 meters (1,092 feet), is located in the heart of the city. You can ascend 150 meters (492 feet) to reach the tower's Observation Deck.
Humble Beginnings
Constructed in 1958, Tokyo Tower was the tallest structure in Japan, inspired by the Eiffel Tower. Designed by architect Tach? Nait?, it was built with recycled steel from dismantled American war tanks post-World War II and primarily served as a transmission tower for television and radio.
What Can I See at Tokyo Tower?
Your ticket grants access to the main observation deck at a height of 150 m (492 feet), offering a 360-degree view of Tokyo. Notable landmarks include the Imperial Palace and, on clear days, Mount Fuji. The Skywalk Window features glass flooring for a unique downward view. Additionally, you can visit the highest Shinto shrine in the capital.
Refreshments are available at the cafeteria, and you can purchase souvenirs at the official store.
