Visit the world's largest fish market on this tour of the Tsukiji district in Tokyo, where you'll taste fresh fish and enjoy a traditional meal.
Tour Details
We'll meet at the designated time at the gate of the Honganji Temple and proceed to visit what was once the largest fish market in the world.
The tour will begin at the old marketplace, starting with a visit to a small Zionist shrine and the Tsukiji Hongan-ji Buddhist temple, which dates back to the 17th century.
Next, we will explore the streets that formerly housed the Tsukiji Market. The large fish market is now on the nearby island of Toyosu, but many renowned fish shops remain in the streets of Tsukiji.
During the tour, participants will taste oysters and other local fresh fish products. We will enter a restaurant to enjoy donburi, a traditional Japanese dish of fish, meat, and vegetables.
After the meal, we will visit an observatory to enjoy panoramic views of the area. The tour will conclude back at the starting point after a total duration of 3 hours.
