On this tour of Tomar, discover the most iconic locations in this beautiful city in the Ribatejo province and enjoy its local food.
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the Tomar train station to begin our tour. First, we will visit the Pegões Aquaduct, which stands at 30 metres (98 feet) in height and consists of 180 arches, built starting in 1593 during the reign of Phillip I of Portugal.
Next, we'll go to Christ's Convent, a World Heritage Site declared by UNESCO. We will spend about 2 hours visiting this significant monument and exploring its gardens.
Our tour will then take us to Tomar's historic centre. We'll cross the famous Sepra Pinto Street and reach Republic Square, notable for its mosaic of black and white diamonds. Here, a short stop will be made for you to grab something to eat.
We will continue around Mata dos Sete Montes, a 39-hectare park featuring a variety of trees, including judas, oak, and olive trees, as well as a miniature replica of the towers of Christ's Convent.
Finally, we will conclude the tour at the starting point after a total duration of 7 hours.
