Torrevieja Salt Flats Tour

In this guided walking tour of the salt flats of Torrevieja, we'll discover the pink lagoons of one of the largest salt flats in Europe.

Description

At the designated time, we'll meet at the entrance of the Torrevieja salt flats and start a walking tour among salt pyramids and pink lagoons. For two hours, we'll explore part of the Lagunas de la Mata & Torrevieja Natural Park, covering almost 4 kilometers (2.5 miles). The tour includes observations of a landscape with mounds of salt and pink waters, along with an explanation of the process used in the salt mines of Torrevieja to treat the extracted huge tons of salt, a practice dating back to Roman times. Additionally, we will discuss the factors contributing to the lagoons' striking pink tone. The guided tour will conclude at the starting point after 2 hours.
