Torrevieja Salt Flats Tour

In this guided walking tour of the salt flats of Torrevieja, we'll discover the pink lagoons of one of the largest salt flats in Europe.

Description

At the designated time, we'll meet at the entrance of the Torrevieja salt flats to start a walking tour among salt pyramids and pink lagoons.

For two hours, we'll explore part of the Lagunas de la Mata & Torrevieja Natural Park, covering almost 4 kilometers (2.5 miles). The tour includes a picturesque landscape with mounds of salt and pink waters.

We will discuss the process used in the salt mines of Torrevieja to treat the huge tons of salt extracted from these lagoons, a method dating back to Roman times, as well as the reasons for the lagoons' peculiar pink tone.

The guided tour will conclude at the starting point after a total of 2 hours.
