Torrevieja Salt Flats Tour

In this guided walking tour of the salt flats of Torrevieja, we'll discover the pink lagoons of one of the largest salt flats in Europe.

Description

At the designated time, we'll meet at the entrance of the Torrevieja salt flats to start a walking tour among salt pyramids and pink lagoons. The tour lasts for two hours and covers almost 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) in the Lagunas de la Mata & Torrevieja Natural Park.

During the tour, we'll observe a landscape featuring mounds of salt and pink waters. We'll explain the process used in the salt mines of Torrevieja for treating the huge tons of salt extracted from these lagoons, a method that dates back to Roman times, as well as the reasons for the lagoons' striking pink tone.

The guided tour will conclude at the starting point after a total duration of 2 hours.
