Tamerza, Chebika, & Midès Day Trip

With this day trip from Tozeur or Nefta, you'll visit the beautiful oases of Chebika, Tamerza, and Midès, and the filming set of Star Wars, Mos Espa, while enjoying a traditional lunch.

Day Trip Details

After picking you up at your hotel in Tozeur or Nefta at the designated time, we'll explore Tunisia's mountain oases and desert film locations.

The first stop will be the Chebika Oasis, where we'll walk for 45 minutes to 1 hour along the river, visit the natural spring, cool off under the waterfall, and enjoy a view over Chott El Gharsa.

Next, we'll continue to Tamerza Oasis, the largest mountain oasis in Tunisia, known for its canyon and waterfalls. We'll enjoy a traditional lunch featuring soup, salad, brik, Tunisian couscous or meat cooked in a gargoulette, and seasonal fruits for dessert. This stop will last 30 to 45 minutes.

Afterward, we'll visit Midès for about 30 minutes, exploring the village and enjoying canyon views along with fresh local dates.

We will then take an off-roading vehicle across the salt lake of Chott El Gharsa to reach film locations such as The English Patient and Onng Jmal, spending around 1.5 hours at these sites.

Finally, we’ll conclude our trip at Mos Espa, the filming location of Star Wars, and enjoy a sunset over the Sahara's dunes. After 1 hour here, we'll return to your hotel, concluding the 8-hour day trip.
