Excursion to the Stagnone Salt Pans

Our adventure begins in the heart of Trapani at the appointed time. We will proceed to the charming Stagnone Lagoon, which is just a short thirty-minute journey from Trapani.

Your knowledgeable guide will share the rich history of this fascinating area, including the notable battles that took place there, its historical roots, and the significance of salt production in the region.

Next, we will embark on a boat to experience a leisurely ride across the Stagnone nature reserve lagoon. As we navigate through, you will be captivated by the breathtaking landscapes and the serene islands of San Pantaleo, Lunga, Schola, and Santa Maria.

Following our boat journey, we will visit the Ettore Infersa salt mines, where the impressive salt mounds and traditional mill will leave you in awe. Here, we’ll explore the methods behind salt harvesting and indulge in a tasting session featuring delightful local specialties, including pistachios, almond creams, cheeses, chocolates, and regional wines.

Upon completing our exploration of the Stagnone salt pans, we will head back to Trapani.
