Excursion to Lipica Horse Farm & Škocjan Caves

Your journey begins at a designated meeting point in Trieste, from where we will travel to an ancient stud farm in Lipica. Here, you’ll gain insights into the renowned Lipizzaner horse.

Upon arrival, prepare to walk through the farm enveloped by majestic chestnut and oak trees. You will discover the rich history of the white Lipizzaner horse and its breeding legacy that spans over four centuries!

After our time at the breeding farm, we will proceed to the Lipikum Museum to learn more about the unique characteristics of this horse breed. If timing allows, we might witness one of the captivating equestrian performances (not included).

Next, we’ll depart from the stud farm and head towards the Škocjan Caves, which boasts one of the largest underground canyons globally. This site has been honored as a UNESCO World Heritage Site! Inside the caves, you’ll be awe-struck by its stunning stalactites, flowing rapids, and serene lakes. A highlight of the visit will be crossing a bridge 40 meters above an underground river, offering breathtaking views of the canyon below!

Before concluding our day, we will explore the Škocjan Caves Regional Park, taking a leisurely stroll to admire its remarkable geological and archaeological wonders.

After approximately five hours of exploration, we will return to our meeting point in Trieste, marking the end of a memorable experience.
