On this excursion to Lipica, you'll visit one of the oldest horse farms in Slovenia and the Škocjan Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Lipica Horse Farm & Škocjan Caves Excursion

After meeting at your selected meeting point in Trieste, we'll head to an old stud farm in Lipica, where we'll learn about the famous Lipizzaner horse.

Upon arrival, we'll explore the farm surrounded by chestnut and oak trees. You'll learn about the history of the white Lipizzaner horse and the tradition of breeding these animals, which dates back over 400 years.

After visiting the breeding farm, we'll visit the local Lipikum Museum to discover the peculiarities of this breed. If possible, we may catch one of the equestrian shows (not included).

Later, we'll head to the Škocjan Caves, one of the largest underground canyons globally, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We'll explore the caves, seeing stalactites, rapids, and lakes, and cross a bridge situated 40 meters above an underground river for views of the canyon.

Before returning to Trieste, we'll explore the Škocjan Caves Regional Park and stroll to check out its geological and archaeological monuments.

After five hours of exploring, we'll return to Trieste.
