Lipica Horse Farm & Škocjan Caves Excursion

This excursion includes a visit to one of the oldest horse farms in Slovenia and the Škocjan Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Participants will meet at a selected point in Trieste before traveling to the Lipica stud farm to learn about the famous Lipizzaner horse.

Attendees will explore the farm, which is surrounded by chestnut and oak trees, and learn about the history of the Lipizzaner horse, a breeding tradition that spans over 400 years. Following the farm visit, the excursion will include time at the Lipikum Museum, where visitors can discover features of this horse breed. There may also be an opportunity to see an equestrian show, although this is not included in the tour.

The next stop will be the Škocjan Caves, noted for being one of the world's largest underground canyons and also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tour will involve exploring the caves, including impressive stalactites, rapids, and lakes, as well as crossing a bridge 40 meters above an underground river for unique views of the canyon.

Before returning to Trieste, the excursion will feature a stroll through the Škocjan Caves Regional Park to view its significant geological and archaeological sites. After five hours of exploration, the group will return to the starting point in Trieste.
