On this excursion to Lipica, you'll visit one of the oldest horse farms in Slovenia and the Škocjan Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Lipica Horse Farm & Škocjan Caves Excursion

After meeting at your selected meeting point in Trieste, we'll head to an old stud farm in Lipica, where we'll learn all about the Lipizzaner horse.

Upon arrival, we'll explore the farm surrounded by chestnut and oak trees, gaining insight into the history of the white Lipizzaner horse and its breeding traditions, which date back over 400 years.

After visiting the breeding farm, we'll go to the local Lipikum Museum to discover the characteristics of this breed. If schedule permits, we may witness an equestrian show (not included).

Later, we'll depart for the Škocjan Caves, known for being one of the largest underground canyons globally and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We'll explore the caves, observing their stalactites, rapids, and lakes, including a crossing of a bridge 40 meters above an underground river for exceptional views of the canyon.

Before returning to Trieste, we'll visit the Škocjan Caves Regional Park and take a stroll to admire its geological and archaeological monuments.

After five hours of exploring, we'll return to our starting point in Trieste.
