Leave Trinidad behind and join us on our birdwatching activity in the Gran Mojos Park and visit one of Bolivia's numerous ecoregions. You'll discover how endangered species of flora and fauna are protected here.
Gran Mojos Birdwatching Activity
At 5 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Trinidad and set off in our jeep towards the municipality of Loreto, located 25 miles (40 kilometres) away.
Upon arrival, we will visit the Gran Mojos Protected Area Visitor Centre to learn about endangered species and Indigenous communities in the area.
Afterwards, we'll have breakfast and then proceed to a local hacienda to try and spot the blue-throated macaws, an endemic species with only 250 individuals remaining in the wild.
We will return to Loreto for lunch of fish and fruit before heading back to Trinidad, dropping you off at your hotel around 1 pm.
3-Day Tour
With the 3-day tour option, you'll spend 2 days discovering the protected wildlife. The first day remains as described earlier.
On the second day, you'll again be picked up at 5 am from your hotel in Trinidad. We will visit another hacienda to observe multicoloured thrushes, followed by lunch before returning to Trinidad while spotting various bird species.
The third day starts at 5 am with a pickup from your hotel. We will explore the Ibare-Mamoré municipal protected area, home to various birds and mammals, including freshwater dolphins. The tour concludes with a return to Trinidad and drop off at your accommodation around 3 pm.
