Hiking trails, boat trips, birdwatching, sport fishing... All this awaits us on our 1 or 2-day guided tour of the Ibare-Mamoré Protected Area in Bolivia. Let's go!
Ibare-Mamoré Protected Area Guided Tour
At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Trinidad and set off for Puerto Ballivián, the gateway to the Ibare-Mamoré Municipal Protected Area.
After traveling 5 miles (8 kilometres), we'll arrive at Puerto Ballivián and board a boat for a 2-hour cruise along the Ibaré River. We will explore the river's wildlife, including endemic Amazon species like the Manguari heron, the bato, and the river heron.
We'll stop at the town of Loma Suárez and the community of San Carlos, where we will see the Mapajo natural monument and tropical crops such as yucca, syringa, and banana trees.
After observing the famous freshwater dolphins and swimming in the warm water at the mouth of the Mamoré River, we'll enjoy a picnic lunch before returning to Trinidad, arriving at your hotel by 4 pm.
2-Day Tour
This option includes an additional day in the Ibare-Mamoré Municipal Protected Area.
After lunch on the boat, we'll return to San Carlos, where Florencio the farmer will host us for dinner of fish or dried meat. We will then explore the Bolivian Amazon and camp overnight.
The next day, we'll have breakfast before hiking around the Usuni Lagoon for sport fishing and scenic views. Lunch will feature the catch of the day before returning to Puerto Ballivián and then to your hotel in the afternoon.
