Ibare-Mamoré Protected Area Guided Tour
At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Trinidad and head to Puerto Ballivián, located 5 miles (8 kilometers) away. We'll board a boat for a 2-hour cruise on the Ibaré River, known as the River of the Birds.
We will reach the meeting point of the Ibaré River and the Marmoré River, stopping at Loma Suárez and the community of San Carlos, where we will observe the Mapajo natural monument and tropical plant crops, including yucca, syringa, and banana trees.
Wildlife viewings will include endangered Amazon species, such as the Manguari heron, the bato, and the river heron. After the walk, we'll sail to the mouth of the Mamoré River to see freshwater dolphins and swim in warm waters.
A picnic lunch will follow aboard the boat, after which we will take a bus back to Trinidad, arriving at 4 pm.
2-Day Tour
This option includes an additional day in the Ibare-Mamoré Municipal Protected Area. After lunch, we will return to San Carlos, where we will have a dinner of fish or dried meat with a local farmer. We will camp overnight, exploring the Bolivian Amazon.
The next day, we'll have breakfast, followed by a hike around Usuni Lagoon for sport fishing. We will enjoy the catch for lunch before heading back to Puerto Ballivián and returning to your hotel in the afternoon.
