Ibare-Mamoré Protected Area Guided Tour
At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Trinidad and depart for Puerto Ballivián, located 5 miles (8 kilometers) away. Once at Puerto Ballivián, we will take a 2-hour boat trip along the Ibaré River, also known as the River of the Birds.
We will visit the town of Loma Suárez and the community of San Carlos, where we will see the Mapajo natural monument and take a walk to view tropical plant crops like yucca, syringa, and banana trees. Wildlife sightings will include endemic Amazon species such as the Manguari heron, the bato, and the river heron.
After our walk, we will proceed to the mouth of the Mamoré River to observe freshwater dolphins and swim in the warm water. Following this, we will have a picnic lunch before taking a bus back to Trinidad, arriving at your hotel by 4 pm.
2-Day Tour
On the 2-day tour, after lunch on the boat, we will return to San Carlos, where we will have dinner with a local farmer. We will then venture into the Bolivian Amazon for camping and wildlife observation.
The next day begins with breakfast followed by a hike around the Usuni Lagoon, where we will enjoy the scenery and attempt sport fishing. We will eat the catch of the day for lunch before returning to Puerto Ballivián to journey back to your hotel, arriving in the afternoon.
