Moxos Jesuit Missions & Coitarama Lagoon
At 6 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Trinidad and head to the towns of San Javier and San Pedro, ancient Jesuit reductions in the Moxos province of southern Bolivia.
First, we will visit San Javier, situated on the right bank of the Mamoré River. We will explore the Church of San Javier and learn about its history. A breakfast stop will follow before proceeding.
At the reduction of San Pedro, we will view the restored church from the ruins of the old mission. Lunch will consist of fried fish or dried meat accompanied by a fruity drink.
After lunch, we will proceed to Coitarama Lagoon, also known as Pistola Lake. Here, we will explore the wildlife, including insects, endemic birds, and shore mammals.
If weather conditions prevent us from reaching the lake, we will head to the Ipuru River, where you can spot freshwater dolphins.
We will return to Trinidad and drop you off at your hotel by around 6 pm.
