On this guided tour of Tropea, we'll explore the historic center of the town in the Calabria region.

At the designated time, we will meet at Largo San Michele to begin the guided tour. We'll walk through the alleys of Tropea and observe its notable architecture. The city is recognized for the Sanctuary of Santa Maria dell'Isola, its historic center, and its sandy beaches.

Our first stop will be the Cathedral of Maria Santissima di Romania, built in the 12th century by the Normans. This temple was transformed into Baroque style in the 17th century and lengthened by 12 meters. It has faced significant damage from earthquakes and has undergone various restorations.

We will then visit Tropea's viewpoints, where views of the Tyrrhenian Sea will be highlighted. Remember to bring your camera for these scenic vistas.

The tour will also include a visit to the famous Sanctuary of Santa Maria dell'Isola. The monastery has references dating back to the 11th century, and it is believed that the rock was inhabited by hermits in the 7th and 8th centuries. Fascinating facts like these will be shared throughout the tour.

After two and a half hours, we will conclude the guided tour of Tropea back at the meeting point.
