On this guided tour of Tropea, we'll visit the historic center of the Calabria region.

Tropea Guided Tour

We will meet at Largo San Michele to begin the guided tour. Tropea is known for its charming alleys, notable architecture, and attractions such as the Sanctuary of Santa Maria dell'Isola and its historic center.

The tour includes a visit to the Cathedral of Maria Santissima di Romania, built in the 12th century by the Normans. This temple underwent Baroque transformation in the 17th century and has been restored multiple times due to earthquake damage.

We will also explore Tropea's viewpoints, offering breathtaking views of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Remember to bring your camera.

The tour will approach the Sanctuary of Santa Maria dell'Isola, with historical references dating back to the 11th century and habitation by hermits in the 7th and 8th centuries. Various interesting facts will be shared throughout the tour.

After two and a half hours, we will conclude the guided tour back at the meeting point.
