We will pick you up at your hotel early in the morning and head to Brujo, a site with pyramids built by the Mochicas. It is located 40 miles north in Magdalena de Cao, where we will stop briefly. The journey continues across sugar cane fields until we reach the three famous Mochica huacas: Cao, Partida, and Prieta. You will see imposing constructions and admire polychrome relief paintings representing the customs of that time.

After a short break, we will visit the Cao Museum, which houses the remains of the former Mochica governess. Here, you will learn about her influence in challenging male dominance in ancient culture. The mummy of the lady of Cao features preserved tattoos of snakes and spiders on her hands and ankles.

The excavations revealed significant ceramic pieces illustrating the wildlife of the era, alongside textiles and baskets. Additionally, a room dedicated to rituals of human sacrifice displays representations of prisoners and battles. We will ensure you return to your hotel in Trujillo after learning about the cultural heritage of the Mochicas.
