"If he came to Cascas and didn't drink wine, what did he come for?" This saying reflects Cascas' status as the Peruvian capital of grapes and wine. Discover its significance on this tour from Trujillo.
Cascas Excursion
We will gather in Plaza de Armas at 6:40 am and depart for Cascas, a 2-hour 30-minute drive from Trujillo. A stop in Sausal will allow for a break and breakfast.
Cascas is recognized not only as a district capital but also as the first wine-producing city in Peru. It is known for its Burgundies, rosés, moscatos, and has favorable conditions for grape cultivation.
The tour will include a visit to the Cristo de las Rocas, a natural monument symbolizing Jesus Christ, and the Tree of a Thousand Roots, an ancient plant with visible roots. We will also see El Molino Waterfall and the Corlas fish farm, allowing time for an independent lunch.
After visiting Cascas Square, we will head to a local vineyard. Here, we will learn about the region’s winegrowing importance and enjoy a wine tasting. Cheers!
Following this, we will return to Trujillo, expecting to arrive back around 8 pm.
