Join us on an engaging tour of Chan Chan and the picturesque Huanchaco seaside resort, where we will delve into the richness of ancient Peruvian culture and explore one of the most significant pre-Hispanic cities in America.

Activity Details

Our meeting point is set on Jiron Orbegoso Street in Trujillo, where we will convene before starting our expedition to the remarkable pre-Columbian site of Chan Chan, a historical adobe city that was part of the Chimu kingdom. Are you ready for this adventure? Let’s begin!

After approximately an hour of travel, we will arrive at our first stop. This settlement is a testament to the Chimú civilization. Interestingly, it holds the title of the largest adobe city globally!

We will dedicate an hour and a half to explore the Nik An Palace, known for its stunning monochrome reliefs that embellish its walls.

Subsequently, we will head to Huanchaco Beach, famous for its impressive surf. The name derives from "guaukocha," meaning "lagoon of golden fish." You will enjoy around one hour of free time in Huanchaco, perfect for savoring lunch or taking a leisurely walk along the coastline, during which you can admire the caballitos de totora—traditional reed boats unique to this region.

After our time at Huanchaco, we will make our way back to Trujillo. Expect to arrive at your hotel roughly four hours after our journey commences.
