Description

Our journey begins at the designated time at the Emtrafesa bus terminal located in Trujillo. Once everyone has gathered, we will board a public bus destined for the northern regions of Peru, where Huaca Rajada and Chiclayo await us!

The adventure kicks off in Chiclayo, a city rich in authentic Moche cultural heritage. We will traverse the heart of Chiclayo, taking a leisurely walk through the Plaza de Armas and the picturesque Paseo de las Musas. The allure of this colonial town is sure to enchant you!

Next, we will visit the Royal Tombs of Sipan, a museum home to over 200 exquisite gold artifacts from the Moche and Chimu civilizations. Following this, we will journey to the Huaca Rajada, renowned as the most significant archaeological site of the Moche civilization. Did you know that within it lies the tomb of the Lord of Sipan? This discovery is among the pivotal archaeological finds in the region.

Located nearby, we will also explore The Brüning Museum, recognized as the first regional museum in Peru. Here, we will delve into the exhibition that showcases the major cultures of the northern coast.

On our return to Trujillo, we will pause in the village of Lambayeque for you to enjoy lunch at your leisure, before concluding our day and arriving back in Trujillo approximately 17 hours later.

Closure of the Royal Tombs

Please be aware that the Museum of the Royal Tombs of Sipan is closed on Mondays. It operates from Tuesday to Sunday, opening its doors from 9 am to 5 pm.
