Chimu & Moche Cultures Exploration + Marinera Performance
We will convene at 9:40 am in the Plaza de Armas in Trujillo and set off towards the southeast to explore the Moche countryside.
As we advance through this picturesque landscape, witness the unique lifestyle of the local communities. Our first destination will be the Huacas de la Luna, where we will delve into the intricacies of Moche culture. You’ll be captivated by the vibrant murals and intricate relief friezes that adorn the site.
Next, we will stop at the Huaca Chica, located in Moche Pueblo, providing an opportunity to refuel at one of the nearby eateries. Once you’re refreshed, prepare to be entertained by a horse performance and the graceful moves of the 'Marinera', a traditional dance of Peru.
Following this delightful show, our journey continues to Chan Chan, recognized as the largest adobe structure in the Americas. This expansive citadel stretches over 20 square kilometers (215 square feet) and was dedicated to the deity of the sea.
After exploring this remarkable archaeological site, we will then proceed to the coast, where you will have an hour at Huanchaco Beach to enjoy the sunset or leisurely walk along the tourist pier.
Our excursion will conclude as we make our way back to Trujillo, arriving around 6:25 pm.
