Pyramids of the Sun + The Moon Tour

Travel back in time to the origins of the Moche civilisation, one of the oldest in America, on this tour of the temples of the Sun and the Moon.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll meet at Jiron Orbegoso Street. We'll then head towards the Moche countryside to see the structures of the Moche culture.

Upon arrival, we'll view the enormous walls of the Temple of the Sun and the nearby Temple of the Moon.

Visitors will enter these constructions and walk through various levels, observing preserved paintings with warrior and religious motifs that display rituals and ceremonies, including human sacrifices made in the central square of the temple.

During the tour, we'll discuss the erosion of the temples due to natural elements and the history of illegal looting affecting the Temple of the Sun.

After an hour and a half of exploration, we'll proceed to the village of Huaca Chica for two hours of free time to enjoy a meal in a local restaurant.

Post-visit to Huaca Chica, we'll return to the Plaza de Armas in Trujillo and conclude the tour approximately 4 hours after starting.
