Sun + Moon Pyramids, Huanchaco & Chan Chan Tour

Discover the pre-Columbian culture of Peru on this excursion to the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, Huanchaco, and the citadel of Chan Chan. The tour starts at the Plaza de Armas in Trujillo, where we explore the archaeological site of the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, learning about the Trujillo Valley during the pre-Columbian Moche period.

We then visit the Huaca del Arco Iris to delve into the beliefs and traditions of the Chimu culture. Next stop is the picturesque fishing village of Huanchaco, known for its traditional fishing boats, the Caballitos de Totora. After lunch, we head to the ancient citadel of Chan Chan, the largest adobe city in America, built by the Chimu people. Explore Nik An walls, ceremonial squares, granaries, and ancient cemeteries.

Due to the closure of Huaca del Dragon, the itinerary includes an extended visit to Chan Chan, including a visit to its museum.
