Minho River Boat Tour
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the fishing wharf in Tui to embark on a traditional wooden boat and set sail down the Minho River. The tour allows us to explore the shorelines that separate Spain from Portugal.
From the boat, we'll appreciate the landscapes of Tui and the Santa Maria Cathedral, which dates back to the 12th century.
We'll sail under the Tui International Bridge, known as the "Friendship Bridge" in Portugal, which connects the two countries. On the Portuguese side lies the town of Valença do Minho, where we'll see a notable fortress. This fortress has been destroyed and rebuilt several times, while still retaining Gothic and Baroque architectural details.
As we continue along the river, we will learn about the flora and fauna in Minho. The riverbed, rich in minerals, supports diverse ecosystems, allowing us to observe various natural habitats of plants and animals on both sides.
After approximately 45 minutes, we will conclude the experience back at the dock.
