South Tunisia 2 Day Private Trip

The magnificent amphitheatre of El Jem, the elegant Great Mosque of Kairouan, and the desert town of Douz await you on this 2-day tour of southern Tunisia.

Description

Day 1: El Jem – Matmata – Douz

After picking you up from your hotel early in the morning, we will head to the amphitheatre of El Jem, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you will learn about gladiatorial battles. The tour continues to Matmata to explore the cave-houses carved into the rocks. Following a free hour for lunch in Matmata, we will proceed to the Douz desert, where you can take an optional camel or quad bike ride for an extra fee. The day concludes in Douz with dinner and an overnight stay in a local hotel.

Day 2: Douz – Chott Djerid – Oasis – Kairouan

After breakfast in Douz, we leave for Chott Djerid to visit its salty lake, followed by a trip to the mountain oasis of Chebika and Tamerza. We will have lunch before heading to the holy city of Kairouan to see the Great Mosque with its prominent domes. After completing the tour, we return to the capital city and drop you at your hotel for the night.
