The city of Úbeda in Jaén features a vast heritage of remarkable buildings, renowned as one of the prettiest towns in Andalusia. This tour will provide a comprehensive view of Úbeda.
Tour Details
At the designated time, we will meet at the Mirador de El Salvador.
The tour begins with a walk down the Paseo de la Rotonda de los Miradores, leading to a lookout point over the Valle del Guadalquivir. Along the narrow streets, we will see the Hospital de los Honrados Viejos del Salvador.
Next, we will arrive at the Plaza de Vázquez de Molina, home to the Palacio del Deán Ortega and the Sacra Capilla del Salvador. We will enter the chapel to explore its interior, learning about local culture and legends.
Continuing, we will view the Palacio de Francisco de los Cobos, associated with the Secretary of State under Charles V, who contributed to the city's 16th-century grandeur.
We will then visit the Gradeta de Santo Tomás, site of the ruins of Saint Thomas the Apostle and the Jewish Houses. Next, we will stop at the Convento de San Miguel, known for the Discalced Carmelites, to learn about St. John of the Cross. We will also visit Plaza Primer de Mayo, an important gathering space in Úbeda.
Our return will take us along Calle Real back to the Plaza de Vázquez de Molina, concluding our 2.5-hour tour of Úbeda.
