San Lorenzo Church Guided Visit
Join our San Lorenzo Church Guided Visit, lasting 1 hour, to explore its nave, crypts, and viewpoint overlooking the Guadalquivir Valley. We will meet at the church entrance at the scheduled time for our guided tour of this significant historical site.
The church, built on the Almohad wall, features crypts, a parapet, and a bell tower. Inside, we will visit the nave, sacristy, and its ornate doorway, while also observing the murals. Notable is the alfarje panelled ceiling from the Mudejar period.
San Lorenzo Church has been closed for nearly a century and is undergoing restoration and archaeological work. It reflects a blend of Romanesque and Baroque styles, showcasing the heritage of various cultures.
After exploring the crypts, we will go outside to the viewpoint adjacent to the church, where we will enjoy scenic views of Úbeda’s hills and the Guadalquivir Valley, framed by orchards and white farmhouses. In the distance, the Cazorla and Segura mountain ranges will be visible, with the sunset enhancing the beauty of Úbeda's old town, a designated World Heritage Site.
