In this pachamanca demonstration & tasting in Urubamba, you'll see how to prepare one of the most traditional dishes of Peruvian cuisine. Witness an ancestral rite of the Andean World!
Pachamanca Demonstration & Tasting
The term pachamanca comes from the Quechua language, meaning 'earth pot.' With this in mind, it's easy to guess how this traditional Peruvian dish will be cooked in this demonstration.
We will meet at the Tunupa Sacred Valley restaurant in Urubamba at 12 pm, where experts will show us how to prepare an authentic Peruvian pachamanca. The main ingredients are tubers and meat, along with a variety of sauces and spices made from local products.
These ingredients will be placed into a pot and cooked in the traditional style on heated stones. A refreshing pisco sour will be provided while the dish cooks to enhance the experience.
Once the stew is ready, we will taste it, accompanied by salads, sharing the pot of pachamanca as part of this ancestral rite.
The activity will conclude at 2 pm.
