Experience the art of preparing pachamanca in a captivating demonstration and tasting session in Urubamba. This is a unique opportunity to engage with one of the quintessential dishes of Peruvian gastronomy, rooted deeply in Andean traditions.
Pachamanca Demonstration & Tasting
The word pachamanca originates from Quechua, translating to 'earth pot,' which perfectly encapsulates the cooking method employed in this activity.
Join us at the Tunupa Sacred Valley restaurant in Urubamba at noon, where culinary experts are prepared to guide you through the steps of crafting an authentic Peruvian pachamanca. This traditional dish primarily involves root vegetables and meat, enhanced with a variety of locally sourced sauces and spices to elevate its flavors.
The ingredients will be assembled in a traditional pot and cooked using heated stones, adhering to age-old methods. As the dish simmers, participants will be served a refreshing pisco sour to complement the culinary experience.
Upon completion of the cooking process, participants will savor the delicious stew alongside fresh salads, partaking in this time-honored ritual of the Andes while sharing the pot of pachamanca.
The activity will wrap up at 2 pm.
