In this pachamanca demonstration & tasting in Urubamba, you'll observe the preparation of one of the most traditional dishes of Peruvian cuisine, witnessing an ancestral rite of the Andean World.
Pachamanca Demonstration & Tasting
The term pachamanca comes from the Quechua language, meaning 'earth pot.' This highlights how the dish is traditionally cooked.
Participants will meet at the Tunupa Sacred Valley restaurant in Urubamba at 12 pm, where experts will guide the preparation of an authentic Peruvian pachamanca. The main ingredients include tubers and meat, complemented with sauces and spices made from local products.
All these ingredients will be placed into a pot and cooked on heated stones in a traditional manner. While it cooks, participants will be offered a refreshing pisco sour.
Upon completion, the dish will be tasted, accompanied by salads, and shared following the ancestral rite of the Andean world.
The activity will conclude at 2 pm.
