Description

At the scheduled time, we'll collect you from your hotel in Ushuaia and begin a short journey towards the base of Cerro Cortez.

Once we've arrived at the foothills of this mountain on the Tierra del Fuego, we'll begin a hiking route covering a total of 6 kilometres (3.72 miles) with an elevation of around 550 metres (1804 ft.).

We'll start the hike by traversing a dense lenga forest. As we ascend, we'll enjoy views of Ushuaia Bay and the Beagle Channel, marking the border between Chile and Argentina.

We will ascend to the summit of Cerro Cortez, which reaches 1050 metres (3444.88 ft.). From the peak, we'll have views of Cerro Portillo and Monte Olivia.

A short break at the top will feature a picnic-style lunch including a sandwich, chocolate pudding, an apple, and a hot drink (coffee, mate, or tea).

After lunch, we'll return to the start of the trail. Our transport will take us back to Ushuaia, with an expected return to the hotels after around 5 hours.
