Martillo Island Penguins Day Trip

On this day trip, you'll see the famous penguins of Martillo Island and enjoy a boat trip through the Beagle Channel from Ushuaia.

Day Trip Details

At the designated time, we'll embark from the Ushuaia tourist pier for a boat trip through the Beagle Channel. The first part of the trip will explore the waters of Paso Chico.

During the cruise, we'll sail alongside Bird Island, observing birds such as skuas, black-browed albatrosses, steamer ducks, geese, kelp gulls, and gray gulls.

We will continue close to Isla de los Lobos, home to one- and two-furred sea lions, and see the Les Éclaireurs Lighthouse. The boat trip will then proceed to Martillo Island, home to a renowned Magellanic penguin colony, as well as Gentoo penguins.

On the return journey, we will view historical sites including the Túnel and Remolino ranches and the semi-sunken hull of the Monte Sarmiento ship.

After visiting the penguin colony on Martillo Island, we will return to the tourist pier in Ushuaia, completing the trip after 4.5 hours.
